De modo geral, quando um corpo &eacute; submetido a um aumento de temperatura, suas part&iacute;culas passam a vibrar com mais intensidade, fazendo com que se afastem umas das outras.&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Esse afastamento resulta em um aumento do volume do corpo &mdash; fen&ocirc;meno conhecido como <span id=\"urn:enhancement-0d8db4ac-de8f-4975-9010-abc66fd5df33\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/dilatacao-termica\">dilata&ccedil;&atilde;o t&eacute;rmica<\/span>. Como a massa do material permanece constante durante esse processo, o aumento do volume provoca uma diminui&ccedil;&atilde;o da densidade (j&aacute; que densidade &eacute; a raz&atilde;o entre massa e volume).&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De forma inversa, quando ocorre uma redu&ccedil;&atilde;o de temperatura, as part&iacute;culas se aproximam, o volume diminui e, consequentemente, a densidade aumenta. Como o <strong>volume da <span id=\"urn:enhancement-b6a36786-d303-4558-9e16-de6ef220525a\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-creative-work\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/h2o\">&aacute;gua<\/span> &eacute; m&iacute;nimo<\/strong> a 4&deg;, segue-se, por uma rela&ccedil;&atilde;o inversa, que sua <strong>densidade &eacute; m&aacute;xima<\/strong> exatamente nesta temperatura.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Este fato &eacute; o pilar de todo o fen&ocirc;meno e suas consequ&ecirc;ncias. Nenhuma outra temperatura, seja mais fria ou mais quente, resulta em <span id=\"urn:enhancement-a56e7452-3c96-4712-ba9e-1b772477413d\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-creative-work\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/h2o\">&aacute;gua<\/span> l&iacute;quida mais densa do que a 4&deg;C.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"318\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/vestibulares.estrategia.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-125.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-147513\"><\/figure><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-o-porque-da-agua-se-comportar-assim\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"O-porque-da-agua-se-comportar-assim\"><\/span>O porqu&ecirc; da &aacute;gua se comportar assim<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A chave para entender essa anomalia n&atilde;o est&aacute; na <span id=\"urn:enhancement-4044ddd8-207a-4986-be4a-7c165b823447\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/termodinamica\">termodin&acirc;mica<\/span> cl&aacute;ssica da agita&ccedil;&atilde;o, mas sim na estrutura molecular da <span id=\"urn:enhancement-28a94c14-8af6-4d87-833b-b22b51374a29\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-creative-work\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/h2o\">&aacute;gua<\/span> e nas Liga&ccedil;&otilde;es de Hidrog&ecirc;nio (ou Pontes de Hidrog&ecirc;nio).<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A mol&eacute;cula de <span id=\"urn:enhancement-8d7ca2a7-1658-44d0-8d07-b4ca958b5254\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-creative-work\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/h2o\">&aacute;gua<\/span> &eacute; polar, dessa maneira o oxig&ecirc;nio, sendo altamente eletronegativo, atrai os el&eacute;trons e cria uma regi&atilde;o de carga parcialmente negativa, enquanto os &aacute;tomos de hidrog&ecirc;nio ficam com cargas parcialmente positivas.&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Essa polaridade permite a forma&ccedil;&atilde;o de liga&ccedil;&otilde;es de hidrog&ecirc;nio, nas quais o hidrog&ecirc;nio de uma mol&eacute;cula &eacute; fortemente atra&iacute;do pelo oxig&ecirc;nio de outra. No estado <span id=\"urn:enhancement-02146823-50db-402b-af90-1ac3d83338c9\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-creative-work\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/solido\">s&oacute;lido<\/span> (gelo), essas liga&ccedil;&otilde;es organizam as mol&eacute;culas em uma estrutura cristalina r&iacute;gida, hexagonal e &ldquo;aberta&rdquo;, com grandes espa&ccedil;os vazios entre as mol&eacute;culas. Por causa desses vazios, o gelo &eacute; menos denso que a <span id=\"urn:enhancement-3f8b0a68-98f9-419d-bf31-19940d5f4389\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-creative-work\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/h2o\">&aacute;gua<\/span> l&iacute;quida e, portanto, flutua.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quando o gelo derrete, por volta de 0&deg;, sua estrutura cristalina se desorganiza. As mol&eacute;culas ganham liberdade de movimento, parte das liga&ccedil;&otilde;es de hidrog&ecirc;nio se rompe e as mol&eacute;culas passam a ocupar os espa&ccedil;os vazios que existiam no gelo. Assim, a <span id=\"urn:enhancement-3959c2ef-bb91-4a3f-b565-738ee7cd36f5\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-creative-work\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/h2o\">&aacute;gua<\/span> l&iacute;quida a 0&deg; torna-se mais densa que o gelo na mesma temperatura, pois h&aacute; mais mol&eacute;culas por volume.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entre 0&deg; e 4&deg;, ocorre uma &ldquo;batalha&rdquo; entre dois efeitos opostos. O primeiro &eacute; o rompimento das liga&ccedil;&otilde;es de hidrog&ecirc;nio restantes, que faz as mol&eacute;culas se aproximarem e o l&iacute;quido se contrair. O segundo &eacute; o aumento da agita&ccedil;&atilde;o t&eacute;rmica, que tende a afastar as mol&eacute;culas e provocar dilata&ccedil;&atilde;o. Nesse intervalo, o efeito de contra&ccedil;&atilde;o predomina, fazendo o volume diminuir conforme a temperatura sobe.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 4&deg;C, a <span id=\"urn:enhancement-80b61013-8d40-41d0-9c28-3f6d5093dc58\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-creative-work\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/h2o\">&aacute;gua<\/span> atinge sua densidade m&aacute;xima. Quase todas as estruturas semelhantes ao gelo j&aacute; se desfizeram, e as mol&eacute;culas est&atilde;o o mais pr&oacute;ximas poss&iacute;vel umas das outras, atingindo o ponto de m&aacute;xima compacta&ccedil;&atilde;o.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acima de&nbsp; 4&deg;C, o rompimento de estruturas abertas deixa de influenciar, e a expans&atilde;o t&eacute;rmica passa a dominar. A partir dessa temperatura, a <span id=\"urn:enhancement-cb47d1fb-92da-4f2e-8a52-15319675c84b\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-creative-work\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/h2o\">&aacute;gua<\/span> se comporta de forma &ldquo;normal&rdquo;, expandindo-se e reduzindo sua densidade &agrave; medida que &eacute; aquecida.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-as-consequencias-da-dilatacao-anomala\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"As-consequencias-da-dilatacao-anomala\"><\/span>As consequ&ecirc;ncias da dilata&ccedil;&atilde;o an&ocirc;mala<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quando o inverno se aproxima e a <span id=\"urn:enhancement-d3fb367e-ff87-4746-9577-71ed26940ccf\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/climatologia\">temperatura do ar<\/span> cai abaixo de zero, ocorrem fen&ocirc;menos interessantes nos lagos e rios, n&atilde;o &eacute; apenas uma exce&ccedil;&atilde;o f&iacute;sica, mas sim um mecanismo de manuten&ccedil;&atilde;o da vida aqu&aacute;tica.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Primeiro, o ar frio rouba <span id=\"urn:enhancement-3aff909e-24e7-4d35-b545-e7992d25b1f5\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/calor\">calor<\/span> da superf&iacute;cie da <span id=\"urn:enhancement-2d62752f-f8aa-496d-8af9-5d8e7900184f\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-creative-work\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl110249\/entity\/h2o\">&aacute;gua<\/span>, que se torna mais densa e afunda.
