They were blonde, beautiful and had a seriously bad attitude.
Police in Brazil are investigating “Gang of Blondes” –who are said to be responsible for a series of kidnappings of wealthy women shoppers in the cities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
The women, who all had dyed blonde hair, operated by hanging out in upmarket shopping malls and supermarkets looking for well dressed women shoppers. Once they had identified potential targets they would follow them to try and make a judgment on their wealth by observing their shopping habits and credit card use. Once they had tagged a woman victim they would then follow her to her car and grab her at gunpoint. Two of the blondes would hold the terrified victim while two others would use her credit cards to purchase goods and her bank cards to take cash from her bank account.
Brazilian police have now arrested three of the gang and are looking into 54 kidnappings stretching back to 2008.
