Paraná has approximately 10 milion inhabitants. It is the 6th most populous state, with 5,6% of the total Brazilian population and 38% of the southern region. Its demographic density is 47.98 inhabitants per km².

 

A melting pot of several ethnic groups, Paraná is known as the “land of all peoples”. The state has welcomed immigrants from the most diverse parts of the world: Poles, Italians, Ukrainians, Japanese, Germans, Spaniards, Dutchmen, Frenchmen, Syrians, Lebanese, Englishmen and Israelis.
